2002 is an award-winning, progressive band known for their daring blend of musical styles that gives them an undeniable "signature sound". They have placed 12 albums on the Billboard Charts and have been listed as top new age artists alongside notable musicians like Yanni, Enya, and Mannheim Steamroller. The bands sound has evolved over the years to encompass a wide range of genres, from wistful ambient soundscapes to light progressive rock. Founding members Pamela and Randy Copus met in high school and have been steadily increasing their use of vocals and percussion while infusing elements from pop, folk, and progressive rock into their ambient/neo-classical roots.
Sarah Copus, the daughter of Pamela and Randy, has taken on an ever-increasing role in the group and is one of the harpists and the primary lead vocalist in the band. Her soaring, angelic voice is featured prominently on several albums, and she has contributed to many of the harmonies and vocal arrangements. Sarah is a freshman at Collin College, majoring in audio engineering, and has composed parts for the bands new album, Clouds Below. With Sarahs contribution, 2002s signature sound has created something entirely new, and the band believes in following the musical adventure wherever it leads, ever onward.
